Who doesn’t remember “The Catcher And The Rye” ? It is one of the few books that I ever read more than once. As a matter of fact, I believe I read this book maybe 4 or five times. Rarity indeed, at least for me. I had to read it twice in high school, once or twice in college and then once because I didn’t have anything else to read.
Mr. Salinger passed today at the age of 91. I thought he had died years ago. You can read more about him and his famous book here . It seems that he was quite a recluse and that “The Catcher And The Rye” was his only major book.
And it seems that is what most articles are talking about. To be truthful, I never really liked the book that much nor did it seem to be all of that scandalous of rebel like. Maybe I just didn’t get. Or I just understood it. More than likely the former.
As much as I enjoy reading, you would think that I would re-read more books, but I don’t. I think that since there are so many books about so many things, I just want to keep going. As long as I keep reading, it is all good.
