A Friend’s Farewell

This fine young lad wrote this song for his friend and my nephew Ben Meadows. I was privileged enough to hear him perform this song the night of the wake for Ben. I’ll copy the lyrics for you afterward and this will be the last post on this subject.

The good friend’s name is Earle.  Sorry Earle but I don’t remember your last name.

Thank you, Earle, this is beautiful.  No one could have said it like this.

A Song for my Friend Ben Meadows. R.I.P. Buddy

I can hear you laughing
Dancing out in space
I can see you smiling
That silly, carefree face

I can hear you talking, but I’m not sure what’s said

I can feel our tears fall
Our hearts beat in time
We’ve been through it all
You’re sitting on my mind

I can see you laughing, only you know why

Maybe tomorrow I’ll see you
Maybe tomorrow we’ll be fine
Maybe the sunlight will hold us
For today, we’ll just say goodbye

I have felt your heartache
But it all makes sense to me
You found the best road to take
I know that finally

You can fly so freely, and sit beside the Lord

Maybe tomorrow I’ll see you
Maybe tomorrow we’ll be fine
Maybe the sunlight will hold us
For today, we’ll just say goodbye…
